In the remote village of Kotido, John, a young man living with a physical disability, once depended entirely on his aging mother for daily survival. Through the intervention of the Karamoja Women Umbrella Organization (KAWUO), John received a wheelchair and was enrolled in a livelihood skills program focused on leather crafting and sandal making. With the support of KAWUO, he transformed his life from isolation and dependency to productivity and independence. Today, John runs a small but thriving workshop, earning an income that supports his family and inspires others with disabilities in his community. His story is a powerful testament to how
